An INCREDIBLE Evening In Pasadena at @LythgoePanto #WONDERFULWINTEROFOZ

OH...the CHRISTMAS SEASON has arrived and it makes me so happy inside!
I just turn into a big kid this time of the year!
I love all the lights, the music and the way the world just tends to get a little nicer around this time of the year.
It all just makes my heart happy!

I was not paid to feature this post!  Our family was provided six complimentary tickets to attend this opening event in return for an honest review/feature of the show.

Along with the Christmas SEASON comes traditions for our family.
A new one we started last year, that I hope to never attending the OPENING NIGHT for Lythgoe Family Panto's holiday shows.
A show that takes classic stories and fairy tales and mixes them with pop culture and music.
THIS YEAR...the show is "THE WONDERFUL WINTER OF OZ" adaptation of the regular story...only there is a blizzard and a few other twists to bring to life a magical CHRISTMAS time story.
So yesterday after school, we hopped in the car (all dapper and dressed) and headed to Pasadena (there was quite a bit of traffic between here and there) and managed to make it in time to grab a quick bite to eat before the show.
We got our tickets...took a few pictures (as the celebs took pictures on the RED CARPET)...and headed inside to our seats to watch the magic come to life on the stage.  Oh...and my youngest had to get his face painted too (another tradition for this show)
A few things about this type of show:
Kids are welcome in the audience, in fact they are requested!
SO THE THEATER is full of giggles, sometimes crying, and lots of kids just having a great time!  Why?
This show involves audience participation (cheering and booing), singing at times and songs that everyone will recognize.
Oh...and the music is done by a live orchestra too!
It's an absolute blast for all ages!
Because of the nature of these shows, no cameras are allowed (it's forbidden) I didn't get to snap any photos of the actual show taking place...but TRUST was SO MUCH FUN!
The performance is CELEBRITY packed too!
Kermit the Frog (I'm not joking...the actual KERMIT) as OZ, Marissa Jaret Winokur (Glinda), Mackenzie Ziegler (Dorothy), Juan Pablo Di Pace (Lion), Jared Gertner (Curly/Scarecrow), Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer (Aunt Em/Wicked Witch) and Phil Lamarr (Tin Woodman) to name a few.
As we headed back to our car, for our (much quicker...THANKS LA) drive home last night, we chatted about all the things we loved about the show.
Hearing Kermit sing "THE RAINBOW CONNECTION", the girls getting to meet Mackenzie Ziegler (who they loved on Dance Moms) in person, and just how much we love coming every year!  It's amazing, but even if there is fighting amongst my kids...or even bad attitudes (there may have been some of that last night) the end of the night, this show brings back some joy and cheer to us all.  It really leaves you feeling good inside!
If you live in the So. Cal area and are looking for something fun to do with your kids this Christmas Season...I highly INSIST that you take your kids to one of these performances.
You have to act fast...the show is only being performed for a limited time (CLICK HERE to check the dates)!
