I BARELY SURVIVED - My First Spin-Sculpt Class @MyGarageFit

Our wedding is only a few months away!

I AM SO EXCITED!!

But with that being said, our honeymoon is only a few months away too (as well as summer, etc.) and I want to look toned and fit for all of the above.

I was not paid to feature this post!  I was not compensated in any way by posting my honest opinion about the class I attended today.  This class was offered free to the community to raise interest in membership for the club.

My neighbor across the street is a fitness BUFF!  She's a personal trainer, has an amazingly toned & tight body, is a mommy herself, and encourages me constantly to come try out some of her classes.  I smile, nod and tell her thanks for the offer...but so far, I've never gone to anything she's offered to me.

The truth is...I'm a total wimp!
I HATE EXCERCISING!
I always have hated doing anything that brings pain to my body (even good pain...because I know that I need to be physicially fit).
Today, she talked me into it!  She was teaching a new Spin-Sculpt class at 9:30 and I had to come! There's a new health & fitness place opening up in our town, she was teaching the class and I decided to finally take a class she was offering me yet again.

I'll admit, I almost cancelled!  I thought about it and talked myself out of it!  I knew I needed to do this for myself!  I'm glad I did!
It's 30 minutes of spinning!  Now I'm not talking about taking a slow bike ride around town.  I'm talking about sweat dripping down your forehead, loud music pumping, and Jamie's voice encouraging you to push through the hurt and DO IT!  I made it...barely!  I may not have been able to keep up with all the "levels of tension" that we were supposed to increase on the bike, or standing up and peddling as much as everyone else did, but I never stopped peddling...and for that, I was hnnappy & proud of myself.
The second half of the class is the SCULPT part.  This is the part that focuses on body part toning...such as your legs, arms and booty.
With a medicine ball, a yoga mat and an instructor encouraging you to tighten those areas, we sweated and pushed through the class.  I will admit, I had to stop and grab water a couple times during this part (next time I will bring a water bottle with me)...because, to be honest, it HURTS!  All those muscles I've neglected are saying, "HELLO!"  My heart rate was getting up a little too high and I had to breath and slow it down so I wouldn't pass out.  But...I made it through!

TOMORROW...I probably won't be able to walk or pick anything up with my arms.  But...I did the class and it was fun and I am proud of myself for pushing through and actually going.

Who knows...maybe this will be a new thing for me!
If nothing else, my bathing suit will fit a little bit better for the honeymoon!

Bangin' Eyes And Soft Touch MakeUp Bag To Boot... @HardCandyLife

As you know, I am a mom that loves to learn more about makeup application, loves to try out new makeup & even new makeup techniques.  In fact, our oldest daughter isn't allowed to wear makeup till high school, but she has a blast "learning" how to apply makeup, and she uses me as her "test dummy" most of the time.

All products for this review/feature were sent free fo charge by the company.  I was not offered any monetary compensation by posting my honest opinion about the products being featured!

It's fun to accentuate things with makeup, right?
Got great lips?  Line them and wear a lush color that will make them look amazing!
Got gorgeous eyes?  Line them with dark or colorful eyeliner and make them pop!
Are your eyebrows too light or too thin?  Pencil those babies in and love your bushy brows!
HARD CANDY, as you have heard me talk about a lot recently, is a makeup line that is fun, inexpensive (sold at Walmart and such) and offers fun, unique and cutting edge products.
They sent me a couple fun products to check out!
We received the new "Kajal Supreme" Eyeliner Duo.  I LOVE THIS!!
I am learning to apply liquid eyeliner to my top lids.  I can't say I have my technique perfected, but everyday I get a little better.  I have always worn the soft kajal (or crayon) type liner on my lower inner rim.  When I do this, my eyes are one of the first things you notice about me, at least I think so!  It's one of the things I get complimented on the most about my face...people love my eyes!
This eyeliner has one side that is the soft Kajal style liner (it rolls in and out), that is like a crayon.  I used this side for my bottom rim.  The other side is the liquid liner.  This I used to outline my top lid.  Because it's black, it accentuates my eyes and really gives them a bold look.  I'm not good at doing the wing or really doing any other tricks with eyeliner besides lining my actual rim, but I admire girls that can do these techniques.  For the cost of this liner, I would definitely buy this!  Especially since you get a bit of both the liquid and the crayon style liner in one.
I also received the Soft Touch Medium Cosmetic Bag...in "LITTLE HOTTIE".  This bag is soft, bright and has pockets for both makeup (on one side) and brushes (on the other side).  It's spacious too, because my contour and concealer pallets are not small & they fit great!  I LOVE THIS!!  That way you don't have to shove everything into one (sometimes this causes damage to your brushes).  I love this makeup bag!!
After all my HARD CANDY product review posts, I'm curious...have you gone out and bought any Hard Candy products yet?  What are you waiting for?  Their product line is priced affordable, they work great and they can give you a boost in your current "look" if it's time for a change or even a slight update.  It's fun...trying new things out and experimenting with different makeup looks & techniques.  You never know, you may really come to enjoy not only different ways of wearing your makeup, but also fall in love with Hard Candy products too.

A Healthier Soda Alternative - @CascadeIceWater

Giving up soda has been a challenge for me!

As you know, I decided that no longer drinking soda was the right thing to do, healthwise, for me this NEW YEAR.  So far, I've done great, but I'm not going to lie and say it's been easy!  I've been drinking plenty of water with lemon, water with a straw (cause I can drink it faster and it satisfies my thirst quicker) and even water with lime.  I could have some tea or iced tea, but I would want to add sugar and I don't want the calories, so I will continue on my water quest.

All products for this review/feature were sent free of charge by the company being featured.  I was not offered any monetary compensation by posting my honest opinion of these flavored sparkling waters.

One product that I've tried before( CLICK HERE to see my past review) came to my mind...as I've struggled on a few occasions, wanting something sweet and bubbly to drink.  It's a zero calorie drink (sounds good right), it's sparkling water, and it tastes great.  My only concern really came with the question of what the "zero calorie" sweetner was.  The main reason I am not drinking soda anymore is because I drink diet (because I don't like to drink my daily allotted calories) and the artificial sweetners in most diet sodas is known to cause cancer.  EEK!!
This wonderful box arrived full of Cascade Ice Waters in all different flavors for me to try out.
I was delighted, and so were my taste buds!
I had to taste test them all, to see which one was my favorite!
Do you have guess?
Watch the video to find out:
The flavors of these Cascade Ice Waters are great...and definitely help "jazz up" the taste of boring old water.  The "sweetner" is a sugar derivitive known as sucralose, and is known to be safe so far, in case studies.  With that being said, this is not a drink that I will be drinking primarily.  It will not be replacing my normal water intake at all.
So like with any other drinks, in moderation is a fabulous treat.
Cascade Ice Waters can also be a tasty zero calorie "mixer" if you wanted to make your drink MATURE.  I personally prefer it the way it comes.
Cascade Ice Waters is sold in retailers across the nation (CLICK HERE)!  If you're looking for a zero calorie alternative to soda or just want to try something new & great tasting, then head out and buy some Cascade Ice Waters, in your favorite flavors today.
I want to know what your favorite flavor is!!

VINTAGE MATTE Nails With Kandee Johnson And @SinfulColors

Nailpolish + girls go together like Peanut Butter + Jelly!
We love for our nails to look nice!  At least I do!  Whether it's a sharp french manicure or a solid HOTT summer color, having our nails looking freshly manicured and totally noticable is a necessity.

All the products for this review/feature were sent free of charge by the company.  I was not offered any monetary compensation by posting my honest opinion about these products.

In fact, almost always, my toe nails are painted and ready for my flip flops at any given moment!  Yes...even in the winter!  I do live in So. Cal...so come on, I can get away with it.
However, having non-painted or messed up toenails is simply not allowed!
I love trying new nail polish lines too.  There are so many to choose from!  When I was contacted by Sinful Colors to try out their newest line, which is part of a "team up" with a vlogger & makeup artist Kandee Johnson, where they created some awesome vintage inspired colors for this new collection, I had to say YES!
I received this bag full of colors:
I was inspired to use the Mint Chip and Kanfetti on my toenails...because the color is amazing and it makes me feel ready for SPRING TIME!!
I used every color  of the Sinful Colors Kandee Johnson Vintage Matte polish on my finger nails...to try out all the colors.  They all leave a matte finish and the colors are bright and amazing.  I
especially love the Kanfetti, because who doesn't love a little glitter in their lives?
All of these Sinful Colors Kandee Johnson Vintage Matte nail polishes can be found in Walgreens and Walmarts nationwide from now until April 2017...so hurry to the store and grab yours today!

I Gave It Up For The New Year...

It's 2017 and a fresh start with a brand NEW YEAR!  A year to make smart decisions for myself, in regards to my health and wellness.  Overall,  I'd say I'm a pretty healthy person by nature...but there is one little hitch that I've finally decided to do away with in 2017.

Want to know what it is?

I am going to do my very best (not making an promises, but trying my darndest) to not drink any SODA this year.  That may seem like a small victory to some, but to me, it's a big deal.  I love Diet Dr. Pepper!  I love the little "kick" soda gives me in the middle of my day!  When I am working, I am known to consume several "to go" cups full of soda as I work my shift.  Soda keeps me going and satisfies my need for a little sweet too!

The problem is, I love diet soda, because it has no calories.  After having four children and fighting baby weight with every pregnancy (major calorie counting every time), I learned that drinking diet soda wouldn't add calories to my day...but it does add "fake sugar", that is known to cause cancer.
Hmmm...I think that's even worse than adding calories!

So because I love our family...and I am learning to also LOVE MYSELF (body and mind) more...I am going to try to make it through this year (if I can do it for 365 days), then I should be able to do it forever...to not drink SODA.  My future GRANDKIDS will thank me for making this decision now and extended the length of my life a little more.

So CHEERS...here's to water with lemon, water with lime, water with flavoring of some sort, maybe even carbonated water (club soda).  I am not giving up coffee (get real, we have six kids in our home)...and I can drink Ice Tea if I want or fruit juices, so it's not that bad, right?  I CAN DO THIS!!

Did you have any RESOLUTIONS this year?
What are they?
Did you set realistic goals for yourself?
I'm cheering you on!!  WE GOT THIS!

Let's Talk Weather - A Video Chat With Me

It's January in Southern California, and I honestly know I have nothing to complain about when it comes to the weather...and I know how desperately we need the rain, so we are not in drought this coming summer...

But I CAN'T help it!
I NEED TO SEE THE SUNSHINE!!

Having lived in other parts of the US, I understand what it's like to go months on end without seeing Mr. Sun shine through the dark and dreary clouds.
Trust me...a little sunshine goes a long way with me!

Here's my thoughts...as I am dealing with yet another MORNING full of rainy weather:
Do you love the rain?
Do you enjoy the break from the sunshine and the cool down that it brings with it?
Would you survive well living somewhere, where there was more rainy days than sunny days?

I know that GOD wired me to love the sunshine...and I do!  I love my flip flops year round, vitamin D being absorbed by my skin everyday and the lack of needing to turn a light on in the house in the middle of the day, because it's so dark and dreary inside.

Just curious...you can share your thoughts in the comments section if you'd like!
I'd love to hear how you feel.
Maybe you think I'm a huge whiny baby!
Maybe you understand and agree with me!
Maybe the weather changes don't effect your mood at all...I mean, we are all different, right?
BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE!

A New Year - A New Skin Care Regime With @DermaClara

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!

All products for this review/feature were sent free of charge by the company.  I was not offered any monetary compensation by posting this review/feature and my feelings nor results.

Can you guys believe it's 2017?  Seriously, the older I get, the quicker the years go by.  It's evident by watching my kids grow up (and I haven't figured out how to stop that process from happening or slowing down a bit) and by seeing the wrinkles grow on my face.  HA!  But seriously, I've been noticing a lot of fine lines and wrinkles on my face that weren't there in previous years.  Maybe I can chalk it up to stress (I've had my fair share in the past few years), or maybe it's from to much smiling (my old go-to excuse), or most of all, from the lack of a consistent skincare routine.

When DermaClara contacted me to try out their skincare line, I was super curious to see if their line, which offers a 60 day money back guarantee, could produce some amazing results on my mildly aging skin.
This huge kit arrived right before Christmas, with all these separately packaged products and I was honestly a bit overwhelmed by the process of it all.  Part of the reason I have signs of aging on my skin is because I have never consistently stuck to a skincare line or routine.  It's just a lot...to get up in the morning, scrub & cleanse my face, tone, moisturize, apply makeup...and then in the evening...start all over again.  To add, on top of it, applying silicone like products (which look pretty awkward) on my face, where the wrinkles are the worst and leave them for up to 8 hours was just a lot to consider as a daily process for my skin.  But...then I had to think about it, do I really want to start looking my age (or even older) than I am?   NOPE!  Time to do something about this aging process and reverse the effects if I can!

Do I compromise a small bit of my time & effort to put it towards finally caring for my skin?
ABSOLUTELY!!  It's Time!

So I decided...this is it...I'm going to use this kit and use it right and see what really happens.  So I started...and can't wait to continue to see results over the 2017 year!
The first step is the cleansing of my skin.  This is very important and a step that I typically skip in my normal skincare routine (because I really don't have one).  I used the Claraprep Purify Hydrating Creame Cleanser and the gentle Silicone Skin Exfoliator.  I also received the Clarapulse Pore-Refining Massaging Device, but I'll admit that using it was not as easy or convenient as the skin exfoliator.  I also like that it has a suction cup to hang dry from the mirror.  This cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean and tingly.  It's refreshing for my skin.  Plus, with the exfoliator, I feel like it's wiping away dead skin cells that collect on my face.  AWESOME!
The next step is using Claraline Peptide-Infused Serum (for day & night) and the Claratone Stimulating Serum Applicator (which looks like a little mirror that vibrates).  My skin doesn't feel much different after applying the serum, but I have a feeling it's working anyway.  Then to follow up with the Clarasome Radiance Restoring Moisturizer.  This moisturizer is thick, creamy and leaves my skin feeling baby butt soft.  Seriously...this moisturizer is pretty awesome & nourishing to my skin.
Another step is the Clarafuse Anti-aging pads.  I got both the ones for the face and the chest, but still have not used the chest ones.  The ones for the face are applied to the problem areas: my crows feet, smile wrinkles and then the main scowl wrinkles on my forehead.  I am not able to wear these when I am sleeping (I tried), but have managed to wear them for an hour or two at a time during the day.  It does appear to help minimize the wrinkles when they are taken off...but it's not anything miraculous YET.  Maybe I'm not leaving them on long enough?  If I could sleep with them on, I would...and maybe then I would see some dramatic results...but sleep doesn't come when I have silicone pads all over my face.
And we can't forget about the lips.  I mean, plump and pretty lips are all the rave right now, right?  Girls are doing crazy things for plumper & fuller lips.  Me personally, I am pleased with my lips, as is, but it never hurts to keep them moisturized and shiny.  I will admit, the Claralips product didn't do any PLUMPING to my lips.  It doesn't tingle or in any way PLUMP my lips...but it does keep them plenty moisturized and shiny when I wear the product.
OVERALL (the pictures above are my afters - using the product for a few weeks consistently)...my experience with the DermaClara products has been positive.  My skin feels moisturized and looks great.  As far as diminishing my wrinkles, I think I need to use the Clarafuse pads more often, because I think they are what really helps rid me of the fine lines and wrinkles.  Overall, through the past couple weeks of using these products, I have not seen any MAJOR changes to the fine lines and wrinkles on my face, but my skin does feel way more nourished, clean and moisturized.  The other products (cleanser, serum, moisturizer, etc.) are for daily maintenance and care of my skin...which I need.  I'm thankful to have been born with some decently clear skin (as far as acne and blemishes), but I still need to be preventative as the aging process continues.

I WILL NOT GIVE UP!   I will be consistent & I will continue using this DermaClara product for the full 60 days and we'll see if I really do see AMAZINGLY OBVIOUS results!

Until then, you can check out more about the product line by clicking here: CLICK HERE!
