CREATIVITY OVERLOAD This Summer - With @PerlerBrand & Imagination

Summer months can tend to be hot, long and sometimes boring for the kids.
The kiddos start missing their school schedule, their friends and the hussle & bussle that the school year brings.  I always commend teachers, for keeping our kids brains functioning at full capacity day after day, during the school year.
That is not an easy job, by any means!

No products were sent for this review/feature!  I purchased the Perler Beads and Peg Boards on my own accord.  I was not offered any monetary compensation by posting about our experience with Perler Beads.
So as a mom, I do the best I can during the summer to keep that BRAIN WHEEL spinning.  I always hope that my kids are able to retain what they learned the following year and be ready for the year ahead.  Not only do they have things they are responsible for on a daily basis during the summer months, but I love finding activities and places to visit, that will also continue to grow their brain.

That means (FEEL THE PRESSURE MOMS?), this mommy needs to find activities that will keep them busy and a fun, non brain-draining way.

Thankfully, we met a product, that I was able to purchase at HOBBY an 18,000 piece kit (ha ha, I mean, we have six kids and you read that right...18,000 pieces)...that should keep them pretty busy and keep creativity flowing all summer long.

Perler Beads are tiny little beads that you place on a peg board (which I also purchased at Hobby Lobby) and then fuse (melt) together with an iron (under the special ironing paper).

The Perler website has tons of ideas of creative things you can make, but we are starting with the basics and going from there.
It was amazing to me that three of the four kids that were home yesterday sat for at least an hour putting these little perler beads on the board.  It takes coordination.  It takes creativity (picking colors and patterns), it takes patience (the beads tip over and you have to start over), and it takes a little help from mom (with the hot iron).
ULTIMATELY, it's satisfying to see the finished result!
I mean, look at their faces!
We even created a mini "BEAR DOG" with these perler beads!
Doesn't he look thrilled?
Are you looking for things to do with your kids this summer?
If you haven't tried perler beads, I would suggest you check them out.
Keep in mind, they are little beads, so this would definitely need to be a supervised activity for smaller kids (who might put the beads in their mouths).
This is definitely an older (school aged) kid activity!
