I Gave It Up For The New Year...

It's 2017 and a fresh start with a brand NEW YEAR!  A year to make smart decisions for myself, in regards to my health and wellness.  Overall,  I'd say I'm a pretty healthy person by nature...but there is one little hitch that I've finally decided to do away with in 2017.

Want to know what it is?

I am going to do my very best (not making an promises, but trying my darndest) to not drink any SODA this year.  That may seem like a small victory to some, but to me, it's a big deal.  I love Diet Dr. Pepper!  I love the little "kick" soda gives me in the middle of my day!  When I am working, I am known to consume several "to go" cups full of soda as I work my shift.  Soda keeps me going and satisfies my need for a little sweet too!

The problem is, I love diet soda, because it has no calories.  After having four children and fighting baby weight with every pregnancy (major calorie counting every time), I learned that drinking diet soda wouldn't add calories to my day...but it does add "fake sugar", that is known to cause cancer.
Hmmm...I think that's even worse than adding calories!

So because I love our family...and I am learning to also LOVE MYSELF (body and mind) more...I am going to try to make it through this year (if I can do it for 365 days), then I should be able to do it not drink SODA.  My future GRANDKIDS will thank me for making this decision now and extended the length of my life a little more.

So cheers to some Waiakea Water instead of my soda pop addiction!

Here's to water with lemon, water with lime, water with flavoring of some sort, maybe even carbonated water (club soda).  I am not giving up coffee (get real, we have six kids in our home)...and I can drink Ice Tea if I want or fruit juices, so it's not that bad, right?  I CAN DO THIS!!

Did you have any RESOLUTIONS this year?
What are they?
Did you set realistic goals for yourself?
I'm cheering you on!!  WE GOT THIS!

I was not paid to feature this post!  I was not compensated in any way by any company in posting my New Year's Resolution and sharing with my readers about why I decided to give up Soda this year.
